Say Cheese

I'm sure most kids go through this. Now when I want him to smile I just ask him to say a different word.

Assateague Island

We had such a great time at Assateague Island. I want to go again next year. We went camping in mid April. There were wild horses, shells to collect, camp food to eat, sand for digging, and a great time had by all. CJ acted as though it was his own private sandbox. Emily LOVED picking up the shells. I believe they were clam shells. We went to the visitor center and learned all about the island and marine life. It was still a little chilly but Chris and the kids waded in the water. The plus side to the weather, fewer bugs and less sunscreen.
We saw two dozen horses. The first picture is taken from our campsite. The horses are walking on the boardwalk to the bathroom.

We enjoyed letting the kids have their own tent. It was considerably more sandy than our tent. It was a little snug when I was in there with them waiting for them to fall asleep. They felt so grown up.

Camera

Yes, it's true. I got a new camera (hopefully I won't be able to break this one quite as fast) AND my computer is working! Yippee! The camera is waterproof and supposedly very "tough". I hope so. It is very exciting to be able to take pictures and document them for the world to see. The hail was the first time I used it. I love it. Thank you.

Hail

So we had quite a hailstorm a few weeks ago. I got my new camera just in time. Mimi and I had just loaded a table into the van. It took me a few minutes to remember I had my camera with me. When I got it out, the hail had slowed considerably. Enjoy the photos. Each car has at least 35 dents in it. Some dents as big as quarters. Some of the hail was as big as golf balls.

Christmas

It was a really fun Christmas with 1 six year old, 2 five year olds, a four year old, and a 1 year old. Don't let the age fool you, CJ was just as much into the presents as the older kids. The kids all had a great time, we then went over to the Webers for the rest of Christmas. I didn't bring my camera so any pictures from there would be great...hint, hint.

He's 2!

Frying Pan Park

For more information check out Mimi's blog.
We had a great time. Near the end of the video you can see CJ sign eat. He wanted the piggies to eat some more food. He loved watching and petting the animals.

Great Falls Park

Last week we went to Great Falls Park. It was a beautiful day. We loaded up the kids and the bikes into the big white van and off we went. It was a great idea, I guess a lot of other people thought so too because we had to wait at least 20 minutes to even get into the park. I think the most I've waited in my life has been maybe 2 minutes for someone slow to pay.
The pictures aren't the greatest...I'm not the best photographer but at least I tried.
On to the adventures. I rode my bike pulling Lucy and CJ. Mimi ran from the back trying to keep up with Ben and Emily. Thomas and Thomas came but we lost them in route to the bathroom. Eventually after riding around the park and stopping at one viewing point we found each other again. The kids went "rock climbing" up some boulders and also "mountain biking" down one path to the viewing point which I thought was a little rough for 5 year-olds. The kids loved it. It was a wonderful day to enjoy the beauty of the earth.
